I am a cancer survivor and I was on a mission!

I grew up on a street where almost every house had someone with cancer, I remembered hearing about Love canal and wondered if something similar was going on. Years later we would find out that that the water was contaminated by a nearby aircraft manufacturing plant.

Fast forward many years. I now had a child and I wanted to make my home safer but I didn’t know where to turn. There is so much information out there. This is bad for you, that is bad for you. This wasn’t something I learned in medical school.

I started researching everything I could get my hands on and reading like crazy.

I was seeing words like endocrine disruption and obsogens. I thought to myself, “Could it bethat the ingredients we are exposing ourselves to everyday is causing us to gain weight?”

I had set out to make my home safer and avoid chemicals that could be increasing the risk of cancer. I didn’t go searching for information on endocrine disruption yet here it was right in front of me.

I also saw that ingredients that were common here in the United States were banned or limited in other countries. I started looking at how we regulate ingredients that go into our food, our cleaning products and our personal care products. I was amazed to see that little oversight actually occurred.

These chemicals increase the risk of cancer but also affect our health in other ways.

I wanted to share all that I have learned. I decided to summarize the information and put together a program based on what I found. I call it the “Living Green Lifestyle Program” because we need to go back to basics and do away with harmful chemicals that we are exposing ourselves to everyday.

In this program we will review food additives and chemicals in your home that can be causing weight gain. In addition, we will talk about how these chemicals affect you and your child's health. We will discuss what ingredients to avoid and offer safer alternatives.

I have compiled the information in easy to read format and each lecture has a short video to highlight the important points. We will discuss topics of concern then move room to room so that you can reduce chemicals in your home and live a healthier life.
